Off to Cape Town
On my way to Cape Twon for work again. I am busy typing this in the plane on the way down. We start bright and early tomorrow so we decided to fly down the night before. The plane is jam packed for a change and I am stuck in the middle seat with my laptop in my.... well my lap.
Have been working on a large RFI which we have to have completed by next Monday. Cutting it really fine with the timing. As long as some of my overseas colleagues pull through I should have it completed on time.
I went to cash in some US dollars I had left from the trip to Nigeria earlier today. There was a guy in front of me getting forex or something. He asked me if I was holding US dollars. I said yes. He replied 'cool, he had never seen dollars before'. Wow I thought. I don't consider myself a jet setting globe trotter, but I realised how lucky I have been to travel. It has got to the point where I even look upon travel with angst or at the very least boredom.
There is a rumour that next years sales kickoff is in Hawai and all I can think of is that it is half way around the world!!! We will be travelling for a day and half for sure and no doubt if there is a longer way, the Business Objects travel agents will find it!!!
Emma has her concert tonight and Laurie has had to ferry the twins to and from school twice which is not fun. By the time I land in Cape Town the whole saga should be over and I hope she manages. She usually does - somehow.
